Top 3 Stress Reducing Activities for Your Daily Routine
HAPPY MONDAY STAR TROOPERS! Let’s talk stress relief today. We survived the holidays and now it’s time to center ourselves and find our new rhythms and routines. There was so much hustle and bustle during the holiday season, many of us forgot the simple things we can do to stay in alignment and in a healthy mental, physical, and spiritual space. We come into contact with more people than our usual interactions and are subjected to several different energies. It can be difficult to stay on top of your spiritual maintenance during these times. But I am here to share a few tips on how to quickly and easily help you call back your power, find your peace, and protect your energy.
Astrologically when we want to see what we naturally struggle with mentally we have to take a look at our mental houses and our Mercury. The mental houses are the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th houses. Understanding the zodiac sign that owns that house, the planets inside of the house, and the afflictions of all of these things will point out issues that affect our mental health. If you have a stellium in any of these houses like i do, you can become easily irritated by any transits that are happening in these houses. I will go into detail on mental afflictions in the natal chart in a future blog, so stay tuned. Also understanding your Mercury sign and how it is afflicted in your chart will show any struggles with staying centered. So let’s get into a few activities that will help everyone manage and reduce stress in their lives.
1. Movement: Movement is essential to staying in harmony mentally, physically, and spiritually. Moving your body whether, through intense exercises, yoga, or cleaning your house all contribute to managing stress in your life. The act of moving helps distribute stagnant energy that you hold in your body. Energetically lack of movement has been known to contribute to depression, lack of motivation, and several chronic diseases. Your movements don’t have to be exhaustive. Cleaning your home, playing with your children, mowing your lawn, and walking for 15 mins a day are all great ways to begin adding movement into your daily routines.
2. Breathwork: Breathwork, in my opinion, is the most neglected form of stress management we have. Breathwork is also known as Conscious Breathing. Believe it or not, most of us don’t even know we aren’t using our lungs to their greatest capacity. In fact, research has shown that most of us use less than 50% of our lung capacity. Short shallow breaths keep us in a state of anxiousness. When we are anxious and continue to carry that energy with us it can quickly trigger panic attacks. Being more intentional with happiness improves sleep, and releases toxins from your body. Incorporating proper breathing techniques into your life will improve your quality of living in ways you would not imagine. I will speak more on this subject in part 3 of my intentional living series.
3. Deep meditation: We all hear that the solution to alignment and balance is meditation, meditation, meditation! After hearing someone speaking about meditation there is always someone else shouting about how they can’t meditate. While many believe they are meditation failures, that may not truly be the case. The number one intention you should have with deep meditation is to master the ability to redirect your thoughts. Meditation looks different for everyone but the ability to acknowledge the intrusive thoughts and refocus on your breath is all that is needed. As with everything practice makes perfect. Start out with 5 minutes of meditation and work your way up to 30 minutes. Deep meditation is 30 minutes or more. The tranquility and clarity you receive from clearing your mind and taking time out for yourself is well worth the rewards you will receive by once you create this healthy habit.
