Hey Star Troopers! Happy Thursday! So yall know I find a new obsession almost every month. This month’s obsession is Van life! I came across a video about a black woman who quit her corporate job, converted her van into a living space complete with a bed and bathroom with a shower. She also had a sink and lounge area that doubled as a living room. The idea of being able to have a vehicle that also doubles as your home is extremely appealing to me. I’m also obsessed with tiny homes but that’s a blog for another time. I would definitely be interested in taking a year…or more to travel across the United States in a van home. My daughter is young enough that she can spend time exploring with me without missing school. Being able to travel with everything that you own is also appealing to me as someone who is always forgetting things. Also, as much as I love traveling, I love sleeping in my own bed so being able to park my van and sleep in the comfort of my own space sounds amazing to me.
There is just something about packing up and going on a trip that speaks to my soul! Not knowing my destination and not being confined to sticking to a plan, schedule, or route makes my soul smile. I came across these videos where the vloggers took a risk and bet on themselves and their personal definition of freedom. To just be able to explore and find yourself without giving in to the pressures of conforming to everyday corporate life speaks to me on a soul level. The videos intrigued my Sagittarius stellium! The thought of just waking up and just being. Waking up and deciding to be in a different city or state on a whim just sounds wonderful! Watching the vloggers convert their vans into living space is fascinating, I barely have a long enough attention span to rearrange my bedroom let alone covert a whole van!
I also have Pisces on my 9th house cusp. I am all about traveling long distances to gain experience. The further the better. Meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and having the freedom to just be and elevate both personally and spiritually is a dream life for me! There is so much of the United States that I haven’t experienced and explored yet and I would love the opportunity to share that with my daughter. I would definitely document the adventure to share my experience with others. Don’t mind me while I daydream and find more videos on van life lol.
The only thing that would get me is if my internet access is trash! I have to have my internet to function so that may cause me to actually plan out my trip. I have also delved so far into the videos that I have a list of ways to protect myself and the van while traveling. I am laughing but very serious about this! I don’t even have a van yet but if you stay ready you don’t have to get ready, right?
